You’ve heard the jokes about NJ before haven’t you? Like, why is New Jersey called “The Garden State”? Because Oil, Petroleum, Nuclear, Landfill, & Toxic Waste State Didn't fit on a license plate. Although we are passionate about Jersey we still found that one pretty amusing. But we want to set the record straight about some typical Garden State misconceptions. For example people often believe New Jersey has no notable accomplishments and that the show Jersey Shore is our only claim to fame, this is false as Thomas Edison patented his light bulb here. No matter what you’ve heard a balloon ride with us will put all of those misconceptions to rest and we will explain how.
New Jersey has no beautiful beaches: False. We have the most beautiful beaches. Yes some of our beaches do get a bad rap for being so near industrial sites that may or may not pollute the area, but our coast boasts the most beautiful beaches, by far, further north. From Cape May to Monmouth, there are so many incredible sights to see and gorgeous Atlantic waters to swim in and if that doesn’t do it for you, there are also many historic lighthouses across the coast as well.
New Jersey is only industrial sites and barren wasteland: Calling false on this one. New Jersey may have plenty of industrial sights that tourists can see from our highways, however, we also have plenty of scenic locations all throughout the state. From the gorgeously colorful forests during the Fall to the beautiful beaches, once you get past that bit of highway between NY and Newark you’ll see what a stunning place NJ really is. What’s best about taking a flight with us is that we fly only over the best scenic areas in the state, so you can see for yourself how slanderous this statement really is.
“The Garden State” is just a made up name: Hot air ballooning takes place most of the time, over scenic portions of the state due to air traffic laws. So this false statement about our nickname will become apparent to you on any one of our flights. We actually have over 800k acres of farmland here and some of the best are seen by balloon. Afterall, landing one of our giants in the middle of a city is a no go, so odds are your flight will land close to any of these farms. You’ll see corn, tomato and even berry farms and honestly, nothing is more beautiful than the sun rising over a misty NJ vineyard.
New York has better landmarks: For starters, let us blow your mind on this one...The Statue of Liberty is technically in New Jersey. Yep you read that right and while our flights can sometimes take off in locations where you will either see the Philadelphia skyline or NYC’s, we promise to show you the best views of our landmarks as well on your descent into the Jersey sky.
There are diners every ½ mile in New Jersey: This one is true and we are proud of it! Who doesn’t like a good diner meal? As a matter of fact, most of our meeting spots for flights are at local diners which gives you the ability to eat breakfast before your flight takes off. Once landing, you also have the option to eat lunch or dinner depending on if your flight is for sunrise or sunset at one of the diners in the area as well. We do provide a champagne toast, but we can tell you what awesome Jersey staple foods "like disco fries" you’ll want to try after the flight as well.
Whether you believe the hype or not, we know you will enjoy your time with us on this unforgettable flight.
BECAUSE RIDING IN A HOT AIR BALLOON IS SO DIFFERENT FROM OTHER METHODS OF FLIGHT TODAY, IT WILL BE UNLIKE EVERY OTHER JOURNEY YOU CAN HAVE IN THE SKY.
Hot air balloon rides take place at two times of day, dawn and dusk. At these times it won't be too heated outside and the landscape will be that much more remarkable. The rides offered around sundown take place two to three hours before sunset, which is a good alternative if you aren't an early bird.
BY FLYING ALONG WITH THE BREEZE, THERE WON'T BE ANY WIND TO FEEL, MAKING THE JOURNEY VERY PEACEFUL.
The moment your balloon takes off, you will end up drifting along around 500 to 3,000 feet in the air. Weather permitting, a hot air balloon can fly all the way up to 10,000 feet. Because you are in a balloon, this adventure doesn't truly have a specific destination. Generally your balloon will wind up travelling anywhere between 2 and 5 miles over the course of about an hour.
This trip is about you, so you can only assume the best from us. Our captains are experts, guaranteed. Each qualified professional working with us must be in ownership of a Pilot's Certificate and license through the Federal Aviation Administration.

In the past, the very first successful endeavor into the sky was on a hot air balloon. From the first ride in the 1700's, hot air balloons have stood the test of time.
Much may have changed in the past centuries, but hot air balloons are still quite simple. A gigantic, vibrant balloon is overhead, containing air heated by burners.
There are all sorts of balloons in every form of adventure. Hot air balloons are rather accommodating too, having the ability to carry as much as 16 people in one go. Numbers of 4, 8, 10, and 12 passengers are the most common though.
As the balloons themselves are lifted using hot air, it's good to know how that works. You're able to have such a gorgeous view simply because hot air is not quite as dense as cool air. When the balloon is loaded with hot air it is hoisted into the sky by the cool air all around it. Due to this you can literally move on air.READ MORE
